ARTIST STATEMENT
Deconstruction of self and exploring mediums and materials are the central themes in this body of work. My goal has been to explore the ways individual mediums have the potential to evoke states of psychological vulnerability and challenge fixed identities.
In finding Johanna, I have investigated the ways materials can express universal layers of passion, struggle, and imperfection as they relate to a sense of self.
